Nordgreen Watch Review – Hands On

The new brand Nordgreen is making a splash in the watch scene with a fresh spin on the timeless Scandinavian minimalist design.  The brand had tremendous success raising $250k as one of the top 10 most successful fashion projects on Kickstarter ever in Europe.

Nordgreen presents three principles: "Scandinavian Design", "Affordable Prices" and "Giving Back".  Following in the footsteps of Skagen, Berings and Daniel Wellington, the  design is led by Jakob Wagner, a world renown designer.  Nordgreen is positioning the watches to be affordable by offering a direct delivery.  In addition, the firm gives back to the community by partnering with three non-government organizations (NGOs) to donate a portion of the proceeds

The Nordgreen name comes from "Nord" representing Denmark's geographical positioning as a country in the North.  "Green" is symbolic of their corporate social responsibility program and their Danish values of giving back to the community and others around them.

The first generation Nordgreen watch line consists of three models "Philosopher", "Native" and "Infinity".  The watches have Japanese quartz movements, mineral glass and come in 32mm and 40mm variations with interchangeable bands for each gender.  Future generations are anticipated with sapphire crystal and varying movements.

The distinguished Scandinavian design is enhanced by the interchangeable bands which offer the ability to keep the watch looking fresh and customizable for each occasion.
