The Chopard L.U.C Full Strike Watch won the “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix in the 2017 annual Fondation du Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de 5Genève (GPHG) watchmaking event (full list of winning watches here). It took Chopard approximately 17,000 hours to develop the COSC-certified, double barrel movement with a 60-hour power reserve and slipping springs Calibre 08.01-L.
As the crowning point of the celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of Chopard Manufacture, the L.U.C. Full Strike is Chopard's first ever minute repeater. This watch strikes the hours, quarters and minutes on transparent sapphire crystal gongs. Thoroughly refined, the L.U.C Full Strike stands out by its extraordinary sound with a 42.5 mm-diameter in Fairmined rose gold, an open worked dial and bearing the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark.
The Chopard L.U.C. Full Strike is a numbered, limited edition of 20 pieces. It comes in 18k Fairmined rose gold only at this time, and is selling for about $261,715.
