It took Roger Dubuis watchmakers over 7 years to create the Excalibur Quator with the RD101 movement which has an astounding 4 balance wheels set an an angle.
So why four? Grégory Bruttin, Director of Movement Development explained that they found that four is the perfect number needed to compensate gravity in each three dimensional position. The watch has almost 600 parts and takes 2,400 hours to manufacture.
There's a limited edition of 88 pieces for the gold Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor at a cost of about $350,000 US, while a silicon version of only 3 pieces is about $1 million US.
